What to Include in Your Application

To ensure your application is processed successfully, please follow these instructions carefully:

Step 1: Complete the Z83 Application Form

  • Use the new Z83 form effective from 01 January 2021, as issued by the Minister of Public Service and Administration.
  • You can download it from:
    www.gov.za or www.dpsa.gov.za

Step 2: Fill Out the Form Correctly

  • Every section of the Z83 form must be fully completed, accurate, legible, honest, initialled, signed, and dated.
  • Incomplete forms will result in automatic disqualification.

Step 3: Attach a Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Your CV should include:
  • Comprehensive details of your qualifications, experience, and competencies
  • At least three (3) contactable references
  • Accurate and up-to-date contact information
Note: Do not include copies of your qualifications or ID at this stage. Only shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide certified copies during or before the interview.

Recruitment Process Overview

If shortlisted, candidates will:
  • Be invited for practical exercises or oral interviews
  • Undergo Personnel Suitability Checks (PSC) which may include:
    • Security screening and vetting
    • Qualification verification
    • Criminal record checks
    • Financial background checks
Candidates will be asked to provide written consent for these checks in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act.

Foreign Qualifications

If your qualifications were obtained outside South Africa, you must include an official evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). This ensures your qualifications are recognized in line with national standards.

Common Reasons for Disqualification

To avoid disappointment, please ensure:
  • You use the correct Z83 form.
  • Your form is completed fully and accurately.
  • You submit before the deadline.
  • You follow the correct submission method.
  • You provide true and honest information.
Failure to comply with these requirements will result in your application not being considered.

If You Don’t Hear Back

If you don’t receive an interview invitation within three (3) months after the closing date, please consider your application unsuccessful. However, we appreciate your interest and encourage you to apply for future opportunities at the Department of Electricity and Energy.
